Day 1: Pumpkin Spice designs Software Webinar Weds. Oct. 17 10:30am - 11:30am FREE to attend Join us in store for a live webinar with Baby Lock software expert Debbie Cleek. We learned so much from Debbie at our 2-day software event in August, and we are excited to have her do a series of software webinars to continue our training! Learn more about Embroidery Works Everyday and Advanced; Creator 1, 2, and 3; and the latest Palette 11 software. While this is FREE to attend, please RSVP so we know how many people to expect. Volunteer Day at Creative Sewing Center Thursday, October 11 10am - 2pm Days for Girls is changing the status quo for girls across the globe, through menstrual care solutions, health education, and income-generation opportunities.
Join us as we support these efforts and prep menstrual care kits! We will have supplies and machines available. Possible tasks include cutting fabric, ironing, sewing, and serging. CLASSES - - - - - Learn to Quilt Your Project
Saturday, October 13 10:30am - 1:30pm You will learn different techniques for quilting together your quilt top, batting, and backing. You will work with a 22-inch square sample piece - we will not create an actual project in this class. Monday, Oct. 15 1:30pm - 4:30pm Monday, Oct. 22 & Monday, Nov. 5 1:30pm - 3:30pm The Blue Onion swirling blocks are made from a variety of contrasting prints. To change it up - make them out of any 12 contrasting prints that you like. The arcs are long and gentle which makes them easy to sew. Work with 6 different prints at a time to make one set of blocks. Finished quilt measures 50 inches x 70 inches. Saturday, October 20 1:30pm - 4:30pm Whether you fill your cup cozy pockets with sewing notions or candy canes, this could be a darling gift for a friend or colleague! During this fun "make it and take it" class, you will create a cup cozy that can be placed onto any standard-sized mug. With so many pockets on the outside and inside of the cup, this would be a perfect personalized gift for someone to place on their desk or sewing cabinet. Meets 2 Times Wednesday, October 31 1pm - 5pm Wednesday, November 7 2pm - 5pm Turn a border fabric into a stunning 62" x 62" Kaleidoscope quilt. Learn how to assemble the kaleidoscope block and create mitered borders. Choose from a fall-themed or winter-themed fabric kit. Saturday, Nov. 3 10:30am - 1:30pm Learn how to bind your quilted projects. You will learn how to cut both cross grain and bias binding strips and prepare them for binding. Try out two different ways to attach your binding to your quilt, and learn how to miter the corners. Meets 2 Times Wednesday, November 28 6pm - 8pm Wednesday, December 5 6pm - 8pm Learn about techniques and materials for fusing, cutting, and laying out your fabric pieces and practice using classic applique stitches: the blanket stitch and satin stitch.
A kit is available, which includes all materials to make the applique design. Kit includes fabric, stabilizer, double-sided fusible webbing, buttons, and thread. (Tea towel not included in kit - we have several options for you to choose from in the store!
