Thursday, April 19 10am - 5pm (join us for as little or as long as you like!) FREE to attend Days for Girls facilitates the creation and distribution of washable menstrual hygiene products for girls across the world, making it possible for girls to continue their education and participate in their community. Join us for an Open House on April 19th where you can learn more about Days for Girls and help sew and serge hygiene kits. All materials will be provided at no cost. We will have a limited number of sergers available to use, and you are also invited to bring your own serger (if you are familiar with how it threads and operates). CLASSES . . . . . In the Hoop Edge to Edge Quilting
One-time class, multiple dates available. Class meets for 4 hours, from 10:30am - 2:30pm Monday, April 16 . . . Wednesday, May 30 . . . Saturday, June 16 The Easy-Connect Quilting technique, combined with specially designed embroidery files, makes it possible for you to create edge-to-edge quilting using your home embroidery machine. We will quilt a sample piece in this class (no finished project). 6" x 10" minimum hoop size required. Class fee $40 Binding 101
Friday, April 20 10:30am - 1:30pm OR Saturday, June 2 10am - 1pm Learn how to bind your quilted projects. You will learn how to cut both cross grain and bias binding strips and prepare them for binding. Try out two different ways to attach your binding to your quilt, and learn how to miter the corners. Class fee $35 Blossoms Table Runner
2 Mondays: April 23 and 30 10:30am - 12:30pm Practice your piecing and applique skills to make the top of this Blossoms Table Runner. You will also learn how to use the Creative Grids Circle Savvy Ruler and incorporate curves into your sewing designs. Class fee $45 Learn to Quilt Your Project
Saturday, May 5 10am - 1pm You will learn different techniques for quilting together your quilt top, batting, and backing. You will work with a 22-inch square sample piece - we will not create an actual project in this class. There is some prep work to be done before class (some simple piecing to create the top of your sample quilt). We will provide you with a supply list and prep work instructions when you register. A walking foot is highly recommended. $35 class fee Beginning Quilting 101  Thursday Series May 10, 17, 24, 31 (10:30am) Saturday Series June 2, 9, 16, 30 (1:30pm) 1st class is 3 hrs, remaining classes 2 hrs each. Learn the basics of quilting as you create a split rail fence quilt. You will learn how to properly use a rotary cutter and quilt rulers, get an accurate 1/4” seam, square up blocks, and add borders. You will create a quilt TOP in this class (other classes available for quilting techniques and binding). Class fee $60 Beginning Quilting 102
Friday Series June 1, 8, 15, 29 and July 13 (10:30am) 1st class is 3 hrs, remaining classes 2 hrs each. This is the second class in our Beginning Quilting series. In addition to refining the skills you learned in Quilting 101, you will also learn how to piece 1/2 square triangles, assemble different types of blocks, and add sashing. At the end of this class, you will have completed the top of this quilt. This class takes place over 5 sessions. Pattern is Totally Tulips by Missouri Star Quilt Co. Class fee $75 |
