Join us for our next 2-day event! Make a Robe and Tote Bag - no machine or experience required!
May 8-9, 2018 (Tuesday-Wednesday) Make two stunning projects at this hands-on, two-day serger event! Learn new techniques from national serger expert Deb Canham and go home with a finished robe and tote bag. ALL supplies included (even thread)! (Plus lunch, snacks, and special prizes!) All skill levels are welcome. No prior serger experience is needed - there will be lots of support to help you complete your projects. And even the serger gurus out there are sure to learn about new techniques and tools! No serger? No problem! We will provide a Baby Lock jet air threading serger for you to use. (If you already own one of these Baby Lock models, we will have you bring your machine with you.)
Event will be held at Elburn Lions Club. Everyone will have plenty of space to spread out and create! This clean, bright, and spacious facility also includes a great audio/visual system, making it easy for everyone to follow along with Deb's instructions. Thursday, April 19th 10am - 5pm (drop in any time and stay as long as you like!) We invite you to join us in supporting the fabulous non-profit "Days for Girls" in this full-day open house of serging! Days for Girls facilitates the creation and distribution of washable menstrual hygiene products for girls across the world, making it possible for girls to continue their education and participate in their community. On April 19th, we will be hosting an open house from 10am - 5pm where you can learn more about Days for Girls and help sew and serge hygiene kits. All materials will be provided at no cost. We will have a limited number of sergers available to use, and you are also invited to bring your own serger (if you are familiar with how it threads and operates). Please let us know if you plan to attend so that we have an estimated head count - thank you! (You are welcome to join us for as much or as little of the day as you like.)
