Sewing Spotlight: Meet Faye Brigham!

We're excited to bring you our new "Sewing Spotlights," where we introduce you to one of our awesome sewing friends.

Our small, family business is a warm, welcoming, and FUN place for you to expand your creativity - and you are guaranteed to meet some awesome people along the way!


Meet Faye Brigham!
- Faye fell in love with quilting at our Beginner's Quilting Class, and we have loved having her in classes since then!

What kind(s) of sewing do you like to do? (sewing, quilting, embroidery, etc?)
Quilting, but my new passion is Embroidery!

What machine(s) do you have? Is there a favorite?
Baby Lock Soprano and Flourish II. Since they do different things I love them both.

How long have you been sewing?
I started sewing when I took Home-Ec in Jr. High School. I loved making clothes, and when I had my daughters I would make them little dresses and shorts and shirts. After my 3rd child I had less time, and eventually just lost interest in sewing.

Then my daughter got me to take Beginning Quilting 101 at Creative Sewing about 4 years ago and I fell in love with quilting. I bought my Soprano on my first day of class, then about 2 years later took some of your embroidery classes and ended up buying a Flourish II. Love them both!

What are some of the projects you have made that you are most proud of or love the most?
All of them! I made each of my sisters, my daughters, and all of my grandchildren at least one quilt. I love my table runners and my bench pillows!

What advice would you give to someone who is just learning how to sew?
Have fun with it - don't try to make it perfect.

What are you working on right now?
A 3-D pattern quilt for my grandson. I saw it and thought I would never be able to figure out how to make that pattern work and I surprised myself! Not perfect, but so cool to look at!

What are some of your sewing tools you just couldn't live without?
Orange Pop Rulers are great! I also love my magnetic hoops for the embroidery machine, and of course my sewing and embroidery machines!

 
What are some other things (besides sewing!) that you enjoy? We would like to learn a little about you!
I love reading, and spending time with family and friends.  Traveling, shopping and eating out with "the girls"!!  Can't wait to be "post-covid"!!!

What do you like about being part of Creative Sewing & Quilting?
The people that work there are so helpful and friendly! And the classes are great - I will be so happy to get back in the store for those!
