Free Motion Quilting for Beginners
Want to create your own beautiful, custom quilting designs? Learn the basics of Free Motion Quilting!
Quilting is the process of stitching together the three layers of a quilt - the top, batting, and backing.
No free motion experience necessary - this is a perfect class for beginners. This will be a hands-on, technique class - you will do some practice quilting but not produce a final project.
Class Supply List
- Sketch pad (or several sheets of printer paper)
- Pen or pencil
- Sewing machine (with ability to lower feed dogs)
- Don’t forget the power cord and foot pedal!
- Open Toe Foot or Free Motion Foot
- Straight Stitch Plate (if you have one)
- Extension Table (if you have one)
- Thread:
- 40 weight thread for the needle
- 50 weight thread for the bobbin
- Needle: Microtex 90/14 or Quilting needle (have a spare just in case)
- Basic sewing supplies:
- Scissors
- Pins
- Seam ripper
