Learn to Use Your Stripology Ruler: Strippy Forest Quilt
Learn to use your Stripology ruler as you make the Strippy Forest quilt top. You will learn cutting tips as well as piecing tips as you create this project. (Students must also purchase the Stripology XL ruler and the Stripology Mixology book, available in store.)
Your fabric requirements can also be found in the Stripology Mixology book that is required for this class. We will be making the lap size quilt (60" x 75") in this class.
The Strippy Forest quilt uses 1-1/2" strips.
Supplies Needed
- your sewing machine (plus power cord and foot pedal!)
- Stripology XL ruler
- Stripologyi Mixology book
- rotary cutter
- seam ripper
- thread for piecing
- fabric for lap size quilt (see requirements below)
Fabric Requirements for Lap Size
- assorted colored 1-1/2" x 42" strips: 18 strips
- dark 2-1/2" strips for tree trunks: 2 strips*
- background: 3 yards
- narrow border (book sample is scrappy): 1/3 yard
- wide border: 1-1/4 yards
- binding: 1/2 yard
- backing: 3-3/4 yards
* You can use TWO half width strips of the same fabric as long as each has 21" of useable width.
