Craft & Cruise: Summer 2022
Don't miss THE sewing social hang-out of the summer!
This full day of entertainment includes a cruise on the Fox River, lunch, VIP shopping, sewing demos, an exclusive S.S. SWAG Bag ("spectacular sewing stuff we all get!") and more!
Bring along a friend or two and make some NEW sewing friends along the way!
PS: This would be a great opportunity to bring a friend who might be interested in getting to know our sewing community! We are friendly folks here - this is open to anyone!

Ok, so you're intrigued, and ready to have some fun! Now what exactly will this event include?
First - let's tell you about the CRUISE!
Your event fee includes a ticket to our private river cruise along the Fox. (We will provide group transportation to and from the cruise spot, so you can just relax!)
Sit back and enjoy a leisurely, one-hour cruise along the Fox River with your best sewing pals. The cruise starts and ends in Pottawatomie Park (St. Charles) and is from noon to 1pm. This cruise will ONLY be our sewing group!
What happens on the river, stays on the river! :D
Now - the CRAFT!
We won't be doing any actual sewing on event day, but we will be demonstrating, showcasing, and celebrating all things sewing!
We are planning some fun and exciting demonstrations relating to sewing, embroidery, quilting, and serging. Get ready for some helpful tips, insider info, and creative inspiration.
We are also putting together a "Show & Tell" sewing showcase!
We love seeing everyone's completed projects - and we know you do, too! Who can better appreciate your sewing efforts than other crafty people?!

Get ready to be spoiled...
- Of course, we will also feed you a delicious lunch and provide you with drinks and snacks.
- You will get an exclusive S.S. SWAG Bag! (Spectacular Sewing Stuff We All Get!) Yes, we will have some new and exciting, exclusive stuff!
- VIP Shopping with sneak peeks at our newest fabric, kits, and more.

The Fine Print!
The important (but sometimes boring) stuff...
Exact event details and timing are subject to change.
Any changes to our program (especially regarding start and/or end times!) will be communicated to you with plenty of advance notice! We are still putting together some of the finer details on this event, and this page will be updated with any changes (as well as notifying attendees by email).
You do NOT need your machine or any supplies!
We will not be sewing at this event. This day is all about kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying some sewing camaraderie with our lovely community.
This event is wheelchair accessible.
Details from the Riverboat website: "The lower level of the Riverboats are wheelchair accessible, however the restrooms are not. In the event of high waters, the Riverboats may lose this accessibility, as stairs would be used to board the Riverboats. Please call the Manager of Cruise Operations at 630-513-4308 to address any concerns."
PS: CLICK HERE to see a map of the park where we will board the boat. You can see that our bus drop-off point is very close to the boat area.
Please use the (free!) public parking lot near our store - less than one block away.
Your day will begin and end at our store, Creative Sewing & Quilting. We only have a small number of parking spots, and we need to keep them available for customers who are visiting our shop that day. (We will be open for regular shopping as well!)
If you are unfamiliar with where you can find free, public parking - no worries! You can park in our parking lot and a member of our staff will be happy to point out which direction you can find parking. We also encourage you to drop off anyone in your party who would find it difficult to walk one block or walk up a moderate sidewalk incline.
You are able to transfer your event ticket to someone else if needed (at no charge).
We would love to know who the people are that are attending our event - BUT, if you find you are unable to come, it is ok to transfer your event registration to someone else (at no charge). Or - you have until at least Mon. Aug. 15th to cancel your event attendance and get fully reimbursed.

I hear you - I like to know exactly what to expect when I'm somewhere new!
- There are 2 levels on the Riverboat: a top level open to the air, and a lower level that is wheelchair accessible.
- Restrooms are available on the Riverboat on the lower level (not wheelchair accessible).
- There is no air-conditioning on the boat - please dress appropriately for the weather.
- We will cruise in rain or shine! (If we need to cancel the cruise due to weather, we would not be notified by the Riverboat company until 2 hours before the start of our cruise.)
