You will learn different techniques for quilting together your quilt top, batting, and backing. You will work with a 22-inch square sample piece - we will not create an actual project in this class.
There is some prep work to be done before class (some simple piecing to create the top of your sample quilt).

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
- one yard total for top and backing (solid color recommended)
SEE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW FOR PREP WORK
- 22" square batting
- 5" square of contrasting fabric for heart
PRODUCTS NEEDED
- Walking foot and guides (highly recommended)
- 1/4-inch foot
- 4-inch Heart knot stencil
- 4.5" Flower stencil
- Fabric marking tool
- Scissors
- Straight ruler
- 40 weight polyester thread
- #90 Top-stitch needle or Quilting needle
- Zig zag stitch plate (regular needle plate - not the straight stitch plate)
OPTIONAL ITEMS
- Open Toe foot
- Stitch in the Ditch and Open Toe Foot attachment for walking foot (if available for your machine)
PLEASE CUT AND SEW THE FOLLOWING BEFORE YOU COME TO CLASS.
This allows for more class quilting time.
From your one yd. top & backing fabric:
- Cut one 22" square for backing
- Cut (9) 6.5" squares
- Sew the 6.5" squares together into 3 rows of 3 squares each (use 1/4" seams).
- Sew the rows together, making a 9-patch square (use 1/4" seams).
