Richard's Bio -
I was taught quilt making at a very early age, cutting out quilt pieces for my mee-maw and her
daughters; later I went on to work in the garment industry. My tenure for a quilt designer in Louisville, Kentucky exposed to me to many textiles and designs. The first American Quilter's Society Exhibition in Paducah Kentucky finalized my direction into the world of Art Quilts and Textile Designs. My quilt titled "The Sisters", is one of the quilts that traveled with the 2017 Hoffman Challenge Trunk Shows.
I love to see the "switch" and "aha moment" when a sewist learns something new, or grasp a concept that I am explaining. Learn, Inspire, Create, is the concept that I love to pass onto my students, and at that moment, when that quilter or seamstress realizes that they CAN do it, is my ultimate reward. I love passing on the knowledge that I have been taught over the years.
Currently in my sewing studio are the most awesome Baby Lock Altair, Solaris, Triumph, and Sashiko2.
Formerly an International Educator for Accuquilt, I traveled throughout the US and Canada presenting their product at education/sales events.
