Jingle All the Way Quilt

This block of the month quilt includes plenty of embroidered applique details that add Christmas magic! Over 10 sessions (Feb. - Nov.) you will construct the top of this quilt. Kits are available - choose a border fabric with white or black background. Kits also include extra details like vinyl (for the snowglobes) and mylar (for the strand of embroidered lights).

Guide Class 2

We will explore creative uses for your new Baby Lock machine. The decorative sewing techniques that will be covered are applique, twin needle sewing, heirloom sewing, and free motion quilting. If you had additional feet included with your machine that were not covered in class 1, please bring them and we will cover them in this class.

Beginning Quilting 101

Learn quilting techniques with this first class in our beginner's quilting series. You will learn how to quickly and accurately use a rotary cutter, piece strips together with a quarter inch seam, square up blocks, and add borders to your quilt top. At the end of class you will have a completed quilt top.

Learn the basics of sewing as you create this sleek, slim bag - perfect for tucking in your laptop or tablet when you're on the go. Fabrics, materials, and pattern are included in the cost of this one-time, two-hour class.

Learn quilting techniques with this first class in our beginner's quilting series. This is the third class in our Beginning Quilting series. You will further your skills with 1/2 square triangles, adding sashing, creating 4-patch squares, and more complex quilt construction. At the end of this class, you will have completed the quilt top.

Learn how to bind your quilted projects. You will learn how to cut both cross grain and bias binding strips and prepare them for binding. Try out two different ways to attach your binding to your quilt, and learn how to miter the corners.

The Blue Onion swirling blocks are made from a variety of contrasting prints. To change it up - make them out of any 12 contrasting prints that you like. The arcs are long and gentle which makes them easy to sew. Kits are available.

This is a fun Halloween quilt made using Witch Hat (and a few pumpkin) quilt blocks! The blocks on the quilt are traditionally pieced - no paper-piecing required. You will complete the top of this quilt in this class.

You will learn different techniques for quilting together your quilt top, batting, and backing. You will work with a 22-inch square sample piece - we will not create an actual project in this class.

We will learn gathering, rolled hem, flatlock, stitching, decorative stitches, and many other techniques. We will also experiment with decorative threads.

Two microwave bowls to heat up your soup or any leftovers will be made in this class. Students will, use the chain stitch and the 3 thread overlock.

At this time we offer lessons for adults only (lessons for teens and older kids on a case-by-case basis).
Lessons take place at Creative Sewing Center and are $30 per one hour of lesson time ($40 per hour if working with store owner, Lisa Flyte).
