Okay, winter has been lousy – even an earthquake was thrown into the mix of snow, ice, wind, cold. Let's change the subject and THINK SPRING! Okay, when we think of SPRING – we think of cleaning, sorting and tossing out. Let's try something new..... start cleaning and sorting but instead of tossing, how about putting good things you no longer want/need into a box or two. I figure at my advanced age, I can't use it all before my life is over, so I want to get rid of stuff to someone who can use it or appreciate it so how about loading a box, bring it to Creative Sewing Center, Geneva, IL and swap with others of like mind. No money involved – just get rid of your stuff and help someone else by taking their stuff. It will help to know that your “treasures” will be going to someone who will use it. You have almost 6 weeks to get your cleaning done so.......Come join the fun on Thursday, April 1 – with set up at 10AM and clean up by noon....... 2 hours to browse

4D Software Elements

 

 

 

Block 5

 

 

This fifth block takes a bmp image of the flower and turns it into

a work of art using 4D Design Creator and 4D Sketch. Use the

picture of the flower as the background to create a trapunto

design. QuickLink to 4D Sketch, to add a highlight to the

trapunto using Motif Motion. Finish off the design by Encoring

the Motif in 4D Embroidery Extra. The design will fit in the

260mm x 200mm creative Elite Hoop.

Block 7

 

 

With this seventh block you will create a Dresden Plate

embroidery design for your creative Grand Dream Hoop. Then,

use the ExpressDesign Wizard to create a flower design to

embroider on top of the Dresden Plate. 4D Design Creator and

4D Embroidery Extra are the modules used and the design will

fit in the 360mm x 350mm creative Grand Dream Hoop.

Block 9

 

 

This ninth block takes a leaf image and uses 4D Embroidery Extra and the

ExpressDesign Wizard to create an embroidery design. Going through the

ExpressDesign Wizard again, we create an outline of the same design.

The two designs are then combined together and made into an Endless

embroidery. 4D Embroidery Extra is the module used and the design will

fit in the 180mm x 100mm creative Endless Hoop II.

This eleventh block takes a bmp image of a flower and, using

4D Design Creator, creates a one of a kind embroidery design.

Create sections with two fills directly on top of each other and

other sections with only a Specialty Fill. The design will fit in

the 260mm x 200mm creative Elite Hoop.

Block 6

 

This sixth block takes a bmp image of a leaf and turns it into a

work of art using 4D Cross Stitcher. Use the picture of the leaf to

create a beautiful cross stitch flower adding French knots to spice

up the flower. The design will fit in the 260mm x 200mm creative

Elite Hoop

With this eighth block you will create an appliqué embroidery design for

your creative Texture Hoop using the ExpressDesign Wizard. Using the

ExpressDesign Wizard again, you will create a flower design to stitch out

on top of the appliqué flower. 4D Embroidery Extra is the module used

and the design will fit in the 150mm x 150mm creative Texture Hoop.

Block 10

 

 

In this tenth block, 4D Fabric Decorator is used to create the yarn

couching motif. It will then be taken into 4D Design Creator and used to

draw the leaf design using that motif. The final additions will be created

in 4D Embroidery or 4D Embroidery Extra using the Shapes tab.

The design will fit in the 180mm x 100mm creative Endless Hoop II.

Block 12

 

 

This twelfth block is the final block for the 4D Software Elements quilt.

It is the label that can be attached to the back of the quilt when the

quilt is completed. Create your own font in the QuickFont Wizard, then

use that font to create your own Monogram in the ExpressMonogram

Wizard. Create another font in the QuickFont Wizard to create the

second set of letters in the design. Use the ExpressDesign Wizard to

create a flower to fall behind the appliqué letters. The design will fit in

the 240mm x 150mm creative Master Hoop.

SEW YOUNG – SEW FUN

Sewing Classes for ages 8 – 14

$20 per session, 2 hour sessions, 2 students

Series of 7 lessons which are given in order each building on the previous lessons skills.

Students bring their own machine, sewing supplies and sewing kit.

 

1. Classes are scheduled at 4PM – 6PM on Mondays or 9AM – 11AM or 11AM – 1PM on Saturdays.

2.  Classes must be paid for in advance to hold your place.

A. Classes may be canceled 24 hours in advance.

3. Supplies and sewing kit must be brought to each class.

4. Store machines may be used if student does not have a machine.

5. Samples of project can be seen at Creative Sewing Center.

6. Alice Ayers is the teacher; supply list is available thru email or at the store.

7. Classes may be canceled 48 hour in advance of class. 

8. Refund is given if teacher cancels class.

PROJECT:  PAJAMA PANTS

Pick McCalls or Simplicity pattern of your choice. Buy pattern according to your hip measurement!! You   may make elastic or tie waist.  No pockets – not enough time in class.  Watch the Sunday paper for 40% off Coupons for Joann Fabrics.  Can be used for anything that is not on sale already.

                                     

Learning experiences taught:  Operation of machine, Threading, bobbin winding, buttonholes and care of Sewing machine. Reading pattern, marking, seam allowance and steps to complete pajamas.

Frame Quilting

 

Join us and learn how to use a quilting frame. We’ll learn how to load the frame properly with the quilt top, backing and batting. We will work with patterns, how to line them up from one row to the next. We will also work with free motion and how to adjust the stitch regulator.

Fancy Hand Towels

 

We all have lots of fancy stitches on our sewing machines. Come and see an easy way to create a fancy hand towel for use in your kitchen by utilitizing some of these stitches. If your machine has the tapering feature, I will be happy to show you how to use it to make your towel unique. These towels work up fast and would also make nice hostess gifts for friends and relatives.
